I went to an opera on Saturday at the Kennedy Center.... It was quite interesting. It took place in England (then later in America), their names were French, and they sung in Italian. It was about a french writer who (within 20 seconds) falls in love with a woman. She then runs away from a rich guy (played by my Great Uncle!!) with the writer. Then the rich guy bribes the chick with gold and stuff so she goes to live with him in his castle. So, the writer guy hates her. Then, her brother (who wasn't that bad looking, if you catch my drift ;D) felt bad, and decided to reunite them. They then talk it out (well, more like sing it out, but, you get my point) and she apologizes to him. She decides to go run away with him again. But, she has trouble letting go of her jewels, so, they get caught and sent to America. Now, the writer was French, and, I guess he didn't do his homework, because the two main characters are stranded in the deserts of Louisiana. So, they're walking along and she's dehydrated (but, she's still beltin' it out) so she starts to collapse. At one point, she's lying flat on her back with her eyes closed. Then, she sends him off in search of water. When he's gone, she somehow stands up and starts belting out, singing that she's dying (you'd think being dehydrated would affect your singing voice). He comes back, not finding anything, and she takes FOREVER AND A HALF TO DIE!!! I feel like an awful person, but I kept thinking, "JUST FREAKING DIE ALREADY!! GOOD LAWD". So, yeah. That was how my Saturday night was spent. How was yours?
